My new website … (and about time too)
I’ve finally got the new site designed and up … thank god … my old website was becoming very outdated with the most recent news being 2006! Why did the new site take so long to put up? I’m fortunate to say that I’ve always had a constant stream of work which has kept me busy – the last thing I wanted to do was to start on the re-design of my own site when I could be out doing something else. However, it has now been 6 years since the original site was built and the time has definitely come for me to start afresh! I’ve done some exciting work, much of which I have just not shown, except in client proposals and pitches. Who is the site aimed at? The site’s main audience will be the small business owner so I intend the site to clearly explain the issues involved in marketing a small business both on and offline. I have built up quite a lot of work examples, which needed to be shown off in the portfolio. I also want to write a bit about working in the web design field, and will probably also put up a few ‘techy’ blogposts about various subjects and issues and might even raise my profile in the web design field with the design geeks. How was the site built? The site has been built using wordpress, which is a fantastic content management system (CMS). WordPress has more features and options you can shake a stick at so updating the site will be made much easier going forward with news, and work examples.
