Looking around the internet, it is obvious that many dentists underestimate the role that a professional brand image and website plays in promoting their business and generating new patients for their practice.

Your website will often be the first point of contact between your practice and a potential patient. By conveying the right emotions and messages through your website (i.e. your brand values) and standing out from the crowd, you can leave a positve professional impression on the prospective client which will give them the confidence to choose your dental practice over the competition.

Disa Dental group - branding, logo design and website design

dWe were approached by a dentist who wanted to create a brand for its group of 4 dental practices in Derbyshire. Under the brand name, disa dental, we created the brand identity, logo, website and stationery.

The name originates from the Disa orchid which grows on the slopes of Table Mountain, Cape Town in South Africa. The name was partly chosen because the owner originated from South Africa and he wanted his group of practices to reflect his own background and personality.

After consultation with our client, we created a logo which was modern, elegant and reflected the brand values of the practice which is well equipped and a practice in which patients can relax.

We chose a color palette consisting of fresh and modern shades of blue. The characteristics associated with this colour are security, coolness and reliability. Because blue is also associated with the sky and ocean, it also communicates calmness and peace.

Photography is also used to reinforce the brand values and the tagline 'Time to Smile' chosen to reflect the practices positive proactive approach to dental treatment. .

Dentist website requirements

Our research shows that most dentist websites currently fall foul of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) which requires them to be designed to be fully accessible to people with disabilities. As well as losing a potential patient, the site owner of an inaccessible website is open to legal challenge in the Courts. At Clifton Media, we build our sites to be fully compliant with the current legislation.

Ranking well in Google for dental search terms

Most people will use the internet to research possible dentists in their area which is why it is crucial that your dentist website shows up in search engine results pages. We designed the disadental.co.uk website to rank well in each of the major search engines (e.g. Google, Yahoo and MSN Live Search) for competitive key phrases and search terms.

Here are a few facts about how the disadental website performs:

  • The disadental website ranks extremely well for competitive keywords and phrases

    The website gets on average about 500 referrals per month from search engines. These are people who have typed in phrases such as 'cosmetic dentist in matlock' and visited the disadental website as a result. (we rank 2nd in Google for this search term)
  • It ranks very highly for the geographic areas which are covered by the practice. The highly prized keyword phrases 'Derbyshire dentist / Matlock dentist / Belper dentist / Wirksworth dentist all rank 1st in Google (see the table below)
  • Other key phrases such as NHS dental fees also rank well in search engine results
