Mark Pollak to run a digital filming workshop for Media Students - 20 September 2006

Working with Anthony Gell School, we are running a series of workshops with students on digital filming and editing. Full details can be seen at the project page

Disa Dental brand identity and website launched - 10 March 2006

disa dental websiteDisa Dental is a group of 4 dental practices based in Derbyshire. Although they were under common ownership and management, the 4 practices had previously worked independently of each other so we were commissioned to bring them together under the 'Disa brand'.

We designed and built the website which is fully accessible to all devices and browsers and compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act. We are currently in the process of improving the search engine rankings, however within a matter of weeks of being released, the website was ranked 1st with Google for "Dentist in Matlock" and various other useful search terms. We have also created colour advertisements for the local press and will be producing signage, stationery and brochures in due course.

Mark Pollak of Clifton Media is currently featuring as the 'Computer Expert' each Thursday on Alex Trelinski's afternoon show on BBC Radio Derby'. Each week he talks about computer related topics such as websites, software, digital cameras and hardware problems.

A page has been set Radio Derbyup on our website (www.clifton-media.co.uk/radioderby) with links to the topics discussed. Feedback from listeners has been very positive with many questions and emails been sent in. Statistics for our website show that this page is also one of the busiest!

Homefront Memories DVD - 10 January2006

The Homefront Memories Project used the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Second World War to collect reminiscences of residents in and around Wirksworth about life on the Home Front during the war. The project was coordinated by the Wirksworth Heritage Centre and Mark Pollak of Clifton Media was involved in various areas including the design and development of the brand identity for the project, including the logo, fliers, brochures and DVD Sleeve design. We are also producing a large exhibition billboard which will be on display in the Heritage Centre giving details of the project.

homefront billboardThe interviews were carried out by volunteers from the Wirksworth / Matlock area, many of which had never used a video camera. Mark Pollak, together with Katya Coupland from Field of Vision, ran a number of workshops on interview and camera techniques. 56 interviews were carried out in total, and Mark Pollak edited the footage and produced the final DVD which is now on sale. Extracts from the DVD can also be viewed online at the wirksworth.net website.
