Video and DVD

homefront memories projectThis is an exciting time to be involved in multimedia with video and film being used to a much greater extent by companies and organisations to communicate their products and services. Due to the massive growth of broadband takeup in the UK (and the rest of the world), it is much easier for organisations to deliver 'streaming' video content to their customers online through the internet in an instant.

Our Service | Our full service is designed to keep you involved throughout the process. After the initial consultation, we will undertake the storyboarding and scriptwriting. Once this is finalised, the actual filming and directing will take place followed by the the post production (editing, adding any required special effects and titling, voiceovers). Once the actual film is completed, we will then deliver it to you in an appropriate format (e.g. DVD, CD-Rom or web streaming over the internet).

Case Study - Homefront Memories Project DVD

This was a lottery homefront memories logo designed by Clifton Mediafunded project in which we were heavily involved. Using the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Second World War, we collected reminiscences about life on the Home Front from 56 local residents of Wirksworth.

Mark Pollak of Clifton Media ran a number of workshops for the volunteer interviewers on using the video cameras and interview techniques. He then edited the final interviews into a final DVD which was broken down into 13 various topics such as Air Raids, Rationing, Evacuees etc.

He also designed the logo, flyers, brochures, DVD label and an exhibition billboard which is kept in the Wirksworth Heritage Centre.

Interactive CD-Rom

Video is often used as an integral part of an interactive CD-Rom. We Picture of an Interactive CD-Romhave created a number of interactive CD-Roms for various clients - for example the promotional CD-Rom for a luxury yacht included video tours of the yacht and a short film showing a typical day onboard. The CD-Rom for an IT Centre (The-i) included a building tour and introductory film.

Video content distributed online

We have set up streaming video content for a number of clients including the Trident Trust, a charity based in London. They wanted to be able to deliver short films to users over the internet giving details of some of their programmes and services.

To view the content, users just need to have the latest (free) 'Flash' plugin installed on their browsers - no need for bulky software applications such as Windows Media Player or Quicktime.

DVD authoring

The demise of the VCR and growth of DVDs has called for producers of multimedia to be able to not only film and edit videos, but author the final DVD (i.e. create menus, timelines etc) in an appropriate usable manner.

Video Training

We have run a number of workshops and courses in various aspects of video including filming techniques, editing using computer software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Windows Moviemaker) and post production (DVD authoring with Adobe Encore, Adobe After Effects).

We have also run courses on behalf of other commercial training providers as well as Derbyshire County Council. We can also provide bespoke packages - contact us with your requirements and we will provide you with a quote.
