Today’s site
Our 2023 build, relaunched in 2024 and wearing TecInteractive’s 2025 brand by Vine Studio.
- Website
- Hosting and care
TecInteractive started in 2005 in a pub in Wirksworth, with no customers and £50 each. Twenty years on, Tom Bamford and Rich Vine’s team designs, installs and looks after the audio visual technology in meeting rooms, boardrooms and auditoriums across the UK. We’ve been their web studio since 2016: three websites, three guides, a roller banner, and more small jobs than anyone could count.
TecInteractive’s own story begins in December 2005, in the Malt Shovel Inn in Wirksworth, where Tom Bamford and Rich Vine set up a business with no customers, no contacts and £50 each. They sold interactive whiteboards to colleges, kitted out offices for the London 2012 Olympics and moved into video conferencing, and by 2016 they called themselves meeting room technology specialists.
That June, David Bowler of Sibbalds, a client of ours (and of theirs), put Tom in touch with us. We had our first call on a Monday, and we’ve been their web studio ever since.
In 2016 TecInteractive wanted a site that was lighter, easier to scan and good on a phone. Headlines, our design note said, should talk to the customer about the problem being solved, and one of TecInteractive’s own phrases did that better than the rest:
The best one, I think is ‘Run amazing meetings’. This could almost be a tagline for your company.
The rest followed: clean and uncluttered, bigger type, a simpler menu, Tom’s own video on the home page and a free consultation form beside it. We moved the site to faster hosting as well (a test page loaded in three seconds instead of seven), which earned the best kind of review:
Website much faster now – which is brilliant! Just need to get it on page 1 of google now..
One idea from our first planning note had to wait: let visitors “choose your space”, from huddle room to conference room. It found its moment seven years later.

Drag the divider: the site TecInteractive had the week we met (June 2016, from the Internet Archive), and our design a month later.

Two pages of the five-page note that went with the design, July 2016.
A website only brings in enquiries if there’s something worth asking for. We added slide-in forms in May 2017, and Tom soon reported back: “Splendid. First thrive lead came in yesterday!” That autumn we designed TecInteractive’s first guide, “Your Guide to Meeting Room Technology”, written by their writer Danielle Gaglione and offered in return for an email address.
In February 2018 a roller banner for TecInteractive’s stand led to a bigger change. Tom put it plainly: “meeting room means nothing to our audience we have realised!” So the tagline under the logo became Workspace Technology Solutions, and we redrew the logo as vectors to match. More print followed: a guide to TecInteractive’s workplace technology consultancy and a quote template in 2019, and in 2021 a second edition of the guide.

By 2020 TecInteractive wanted bigger projects, more ongoing support work and a closer partnership with the office designers Blueprint Interiors, while the site was still built around products and packages. We planned a new one through the first lockdown, from one rule in our planning document: “Everything needs to be kept SIMPLE.” Video conferencing went up front instead of hiding under Services, Danielle wrote the copy, and the site was built in Elementor so the team could edit it themselves. (Danielle went from “I’m really struggling with elementor” to “my new found Elementor skills” in less than a month.)
Moving a site is where search rankings usually suffer, so we took the busiest pages from sixteen months of Google Analytics and gave each old address a new home: 227 redirects, set up from scratch “to avoid ‘chained’ redirects”. The traffic held: by October, clicks from Google were above 1,200 a month.
You’re the expert with experience, I’m happy to go with what you think will work best. I appreciate the feedback.
Behind the scenes, every form now fed TecInteractive’s CRM and email lists, phone calls from the site were tracked, and Repeat Digital ran the Google Ads.

Our 2020 home page design, and the site it replaced, with the Workspace Technology Solutions tagline (2018, from the Internet Archive).
In late 2022 TecInteractive’s marketing strategist, Christina Bolton of CMB Marketing, invited proposals for a new site. Ours said something unusual for a website proposal:
The focus should be on your ideal prospective customers; more visitors is not always what is required.
Plenty of TecInteractive’s search traffic came from people trying to fix their own video calls. They read the articles; they didn’t book installations. So the new site would lead with Easy AV, TecInteractive’s pay-monthly service, show real projects and real people instead of stock boardrooms, and send every enquiry into the CRM with where it came from attached.
We designed it in Figma before the new copy existed, so everyone could react to something real, and Purpose Media wrote the copy. The home page opened with TecInteractive’s brand film, and each kind of room had a photo collage with pulsing hotspots: Christina mocked them up in PowerPoint, Tom wrote the words, and we built them. The site went live on a Friday afternoon in July 2023, just before Tom’s holiday.
I still can’t believe the load speed, even with all the high quality videos. The last site I helped create took about 10 seconds to load the home page, hence why I sacked myself!
Eleven days after launch, Tom wrote: “First lead just came through on the new website!”

The site keeps changing with the business. In November 2024 it was relaunched with sections for sectors, room types, case studies and technology partners, with copy by Clare Taylor of Apricus Marketing. Team profiles, an Our Customers page and a case-study film for Gleeds followed in 2025, and that November we dressed the whole site in TecInteractive’s new brand, designed by Vine Studio. Along the way we also set up AV Tech Shop, an online shop with live stock from TecInteractive’s suppliers.
Good websites are a team effort, and this one has had several good teams. Who did what:
| Who | What |
|---|---|
| Clifton Media | Three websites, the guides and print, hosting and care, the shop |
| Purpose Media | SEO, email and paid search from 2021, the brand film (2022), the 2023 copy |
| Repeat Digital | Google Ads and call tracking, 2020 to 2021 |
| CMB Marketing | Ran the 2023 rebuild for TecInteractive |
| Apricus Marketing | Copy for the 2024 relaunch and the 2025 rewrites |
| Vine Studio | The 2025 brand |
| Blueprint Interiors | TecInteractive’s office fit-out partner, and the Worldline film |
The 2020 move kept TecInteractive’s search traffic, thanks to those redirects. The 2023 site was built for the right enquiries rather than the most visitors, and the first one arrived eleven days after launch.
The achievements are TecInteractive’s own: a place on the AV Awards 2023 shortlist for the Worldline UK&I headquarters with Blueprint Interiors, finalists at the Derbyshire Business Awards 2024, the AV contract for Gleeds’ London headquarters in 2025, and twenty years in business the same summer.
Case studies, team profiles, news and room types are all simple forms in WordPress, so TecInteractive keeps the site up to date between our visits.
